The pushback against En Primeur is getting stronger.  British wine writer Oliver Styles joins the movement, writing, “I hope that one day it becomes self-evident that posting scores after wine prices have been released was the only consumer-friendly way of covering the Bordeaux barrel tastings.”

Gary Vaynerchuk writes this week’s business diary for the Financial Times.

Jon Bonné tastes some 2009 Sonoma Coast Chardonnays. They all sound quite tasty.

Alder Yarrow interviews sommelier Doug Frost and learns a lot about airline wine.

I’m not (yet) interested in trying asparagus wine. I’m intrigued, though.

In early February, I joined Brian Clark, Eric Anderson, Rusty Gaffney, Jay Selman of GrapeRadio to talk about the three-tier system, wine shipping laws, and how it all impacts consumers. We had a blast. The podcast was just posted, so please check it out!

  1. Just for clarification, I ‘joined the movement’ over a year ago. Whether that makes much difference depends on your timescale I suppose. Please take a look at some of my earlier writing (on my website) – most of what I write now I wrote last year. But that’s the problem of always trying to get to a wider audience from a limited one, I suppose.

    Thanks for the link.

  2. Oliver: Thanks for the comment! Now that I’ve found your site, I’ll certainly be exploring it.
